A completely new set of elements has been designed for the 2002 performance.
Artistically, it was felt that the old elements - which referenced architectural details of the performance venue in Sydney - were not appropriate for the venues in France.
In addition, new designs could incorporate more efficient construction methodologies developed during the Bambu Restaurant project.

The basic dimensions of the elements have not been altered. All stand 3.9 meters tall, are 2.4 meters wide and are up to 1.5 meters deep.

. Each element has a 'partner' - inviting the performers to experiment with new choreographic options. On the other hand it should facility the transport between the two venues.

.

The 'irregular' side of the elements can be arranged in such a way that neighbouring elements 'connect' to form a visual unit.
