Bodice and Skirt

The three images on the left, depicting a torso and an oversized skirt, were created with Prisms suite of software, installed at VisLab. This project was initiated by fellow student Kay Lammers who needed a bodice made of stainless steel for her video and, if possible, for a live performance. It was relatively easy to produce a 'dxf' file and get a laser cutting firm to cut all the triangles from stainless steel. The assembly of about 250 differently shaped triangles that arrived unlabelled in a box, however, was a different story. The photo on the far right depicts a cardboard prototype of the torso.
